The highest resort hotel in Taiwan
OurAncient
History
In the Alishan region, clubs and guesthouses were once abundant, stretching from Zhaoping to Erwanping, reaching the Yushan Pass, and descending to the picturesque landscapes along the railway line.
Among these, the Alishan Forest Farm Club, later transformed into today's Alishan Hotel, stood as the most prominent. Built in 1913, the club faced challenges due to the lack of transportation and difficulty in sourcing building materials. However, utilizing the abundant cypress found in the Alishan forest, the club was constructed with locally sourced timber, giving rise to its renowned century-old cypress architecture.
